 To make a steak and kidney pie, 



follow these steps: 

1. Gather your ingredients: - 

1 pound of beef steak (such as sirloin), cubed - 8 ounces of beef kidneys, cleaned and diced - 1 onion, chopped - 2 cloves of garlic, minced - 2 tablespoons of flour - 2 cups of beef stock - 1 tablespoon of tomato paste - 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce - 1 teaspoon of thyme - Salt and pepper, to taste - Store-bought or homemade pastry crust 

2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). 

3. In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the steak cubes and kidneys, and cook until browned. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

 4. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until they become translucent and aromatic. 

5. Sprinkle flour over the onions and garlic. Stir well to coat evenly, allowing the flour to cook for a minute or two. 

6. Gradually add the beef stock, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir constantly to avoid any lumps forming. 

7. Return the steak and kidney pieces back into the skillet, along with thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer the mixture on low heat for around 10-15 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly. 

8. Transfer the filling to a pie dish or individual ramekins. 

9. Roll out the pastry crust to fit the top of the pie dish. Place it over the filling, pressing the edges down to seal. 

10. Vent the pie crust by making a few slits or poking holes with a fork. 

11. Place the pie dish on a baking sheet to catch any potential spills. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crisp. 

12. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Your delicious steak and kidney pie is ready to be enjoyed. Serve it with mashed potatoes or a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
